As every Tuesday, the weekly road traffic and public safety meeting that has been held since the State of Alert was decreed took place this morning. A meeting by videoconference that aims to make an update on the situation in the municipality and coordinate the actions between the Guardia Civil, Local Police, Civil Protection and Altea Town Hall.

The mayor, Jaume Llinares, presided over the meeting and pointed out that this last week, from 14 to 20 April, has passed without any notable incidents and without an increase in road traffic despite the feast of San Vicente in the Valencian Community.

Also participating in the meeting were the lieutenant of the Guardia Civi, Borja Fernández; the head of the local police force, Miguel Pérez; the head of local civil protection, Vicent Devesa; the councillors for public safety, Miguel De la Hoz; communication and new technologies, Pere Barber and social welfare, José Luis León Gascón.

As for the number of actions carried out by the local police in the last week, there have been 86 identifications; 21 complaints and 335 vehicles intervened. And the presence in supermarkets and leisure areas continues to be reinforced.

For its part, the Civil Guard continues to carry out checks on the main roads and monitor the vicinity of supermarkets and pharmacies. This Security Corps is imposing an average of 10 complaints a day, in the municipalities of Altea, Polop, La Nucía and Alfaz.

Both the Local Police and the Guardia Civil have wanted to record the normality with which they are spending these days of confinement, without the existence of notable incidents and the correct conduct of citizens, who when they go out on the street do so in a justified manner to go to work or to buy basic necessities and if they travel by vehicle, they do so in compliance with the established rules.
